Rebuilding, One Brushstroke at a Time

A thrift-store dresser and a tin of chalk paint started everything.

Years ago, my cousin and I were building Appalachian Restoration & Design — bringing tired furniture back to life and learning (the hard way) what actually works. Then life took a sharp turn: I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

After years of chemo, I'm grateful to say I'm on the winning side — and I'm rebuilding, one brushstroke at a time.

What you'll find here

  • Furniture makeovers (especially chalk paint — because it still feels like therapy)
  • Practical home fixes that matter
  • Tools and supplies I truly use (no fluff)
  • "Start where you are" projects for tight budgets and tired bodies

Some links on this site are Amazon affiliate links. You pay the exact same price either way — I earn a small commission that helps keep every tutorial free and my recommendations honest.
